Obituary for Larry Dean Carter

Larry Dean Carter
Larry Dean Carter passed away in the early morning of Monday, December 4, 2017 at the age of 65. He was a longtime Springfield resident, though was born in La Porte, Indiana in 1952 and moved to Springfield at the age of 8.

Larry was a member of the Parkview High School graduating class of 1970 and received his Associates Degree from Ozarks Technical College. He worked at Lily Tulip for the majority of his career.

Larry did his part as a Springfield sports fan and was an avid supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals, Springfield Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs; he attended and watched as many games as he could through the years.

Larry is survived by his father, Dean Carter and his sister, Kathy Jolovich, both of Springfield; three daughters, Amanda (Matthew Gomes) Carter Gomes, Adrianne (Jonathon) Jatho and Alexis Carter; 5 grandsons Miles Jatho, Winslow and Hawthorne Gomes, Aidan and Asher Carter; and his honorary "brother from another mother", Jim Dillard.

A special thank you to everyone at Republic Rehab And Skilled Nursing Home. Their kindness and compassion was unsurpassed. They made him happy and comfortable for the last three months of his life.

No formal services are planned at this time. His family will have a celebration of his life at a later date.
